FIRE-RESILIENT CONSTRUCTION
Built to Withstand What Others Can’t
As longtime residents of Fire Resilient Living, we’ve experienced the harsh reality of wildfire destruction- impacting not only our community, but our own family. In response, Empire Group has developed a specialized construction methodology that blends cutting-edge fire resistance with uncompromising design and craftsmanship.
Our fire-resilient homes are engineered from the ground up to endure extreme conditions while delivering the luxury and performance our clients expect. Key features include:
1. Wildfire-Resistant Structure & Roof
How we protect your home.
We use Sprayrock steel framing with 3” Shotcrete and 1/2” U Stucco exterior, giving up to a 5 hour fire rated wall system paired with the industry’s most fire-resilient roofing: standing seam metal, concrete tile, or natural slate.
-
Sprayroc panels create a fireproof barrier—these concrete-encased, steel-reinforced walls don’t burn, warp, or collapse in extreme heat.
-
Fire-resilient roofs are non-combustible and built to withstand embers and intense radiant heat, dramatically reducing the risk of ignition.
Why It Matters:
This combination forms a robust “fire shield” for your home, protecting against direct flames, embers, and heat—giving your property a powerful chance to withstand a wildfire. Fortified

2. Openings & Active Defense
How We Secure Vulnerable Points:
-
We install triple-glazed, fire-rated windows and doors to keep flames and embers out, using specialized glass and non-combustible frames.
-
To further protect your home, we integrate wildfire sprinkler systems along eaves and perimeters, complete with foam mixed with a backup water supply and pumps.
Why It Matters:
Windows and doors are the most vulnerable entry points during a fire. Our advanced glazing and sprinkler systems provide dual protection—helping to keep your home sealed and cool even when firefighters can’t be on site.

3. Defensible Landscape & Smart Site Design
How We Manage the Environment:
Working in partnership with leading landscape designers, we create defensible landscapes—using fire-resistant plants, well-irrigated zones, and strategic hardscape to slow the advance of flames.
-
We minimize flammable materials near your home, use stone, gravel, and patios as firebreaks, and keep trees pruned and spaced.
-
Smart irrigation and planting choices keep the area green and safe.
Why It Matters:
A thoughtfully designed landscape doesn’t just look beautiful—it acts as your property’s first line of defense, protecting your investment and buying critical time during wildfire emergencies.
