Empire Group's founder Philip Conway-Burt's knowledge of construction and design comes from 22 years of experience in both London and for the last 19 years in Los Angeles, California.

Graduating from KLC school of Design in 1997 as an interior designer he formed Empire Design with his wife Ruthie and began Developing and restoring Grade II listed homes and country houses. In 2000 he relocated the company to Brentwood Los Angeles and established a Design/Build firm Empire Design LLC.

In 2010 Philip acquired his contractors license and established Empire Group Fine Construction Inc. The company switched its emphasis from being primarily a design based firm to a Construction Firm offering Design services as needed, specializing primarily in Custom new Nomes, Remodels and Property Development for wealthy clients.

Empire Group expertly executes the construction process and is also highly skilled and experienced in creating the vision if required, from working up designs, obtaining the necessary planning consents, providing detailed programs, cost management, Lighting Design, to Interior and Landscape Design.

We are highly skilled at value engineering and selecting finishes for developers in order to keep costs low and maximize profits. At the other end of the spectrum our extensive Design experience allows us to handle very complex projects with expensive and detailed finishes. We are just finishing up a private residence in Bel Air at a construction cost of $19,000,000, with some of the world’s most expensive materials and with the most technically complex mechanical systems that you will ever see in a private home.
